Artifying Pathology
A granuloma is a chronic inflammatory structure formed when macrophages fail to eliminate a persistent antigen.
• The central fire represents the resistant pathogen or irritant.
• Epithelioid macrophages form the inner circle, fusing into Langhans giant cells (larger purple ones).
• Lymphocytes create the outer ring, maintaining control through cytokines.
• The dark background symbolizes necrosis and tissue isolation.
“Around the dying embers the guardians gather- protecting what was once life.”
