The celebration opened with a cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing unity. The event featured a Model and Art Competition with ten teams showcasing innovative pathology models. Judges, Dr. Sharadha Menasinakayi and Dr. Ravi praised the creativity of participants, awarding Khushali Rai’s team first place. The main outcome was increased awareness among students and faculty about the significant role pathology plays in diagnosis and patient care. The event concluded with cake distribution, fostering a spirit of community and pride in the field of pathology.
SDUMC organized an e-poster competition themed "Communicable diseases, its causes, lab diagnosis, symptoms & prevention". There were 100 students from RL Jalappa Central School and Chinmaya Vidyalaya schools. Judges evaluated all the 100 e-posters prepared by students. Organizing team tabulated and best 3 poster were selected from each school. Winners were awarded with mementos, certificate and gifts. All the winners, judges were awarded with certificates by the chief guests.
Celebration was done in the department and Head of the department addressed all faculty and postgraduate students about importance of Pathology and new insights in Pathology in the diagnostic field, followed by cake cutting ceremony. Blood donation camp was organized by department of Pathology in association with Basaveshwar Engineering College, Bagalkot.
Various competitions were conducted for the MBBS Phase II students, namely Penning perspectives, Path-Rangoli, Pathology Quiz for Interns over the course of 1 week preceding the celebration. The team of students - Aleezha Shaikh, Disha Paul and Akshita Kaushal bagged the first prize for Path-Rangoli, whereas the team with students Aditi Bajpai, Dwija J. Khambholja and Aditi Kumari took away the 2nd prize. Sachin Jha won 1st place and Ananya Pyne won 2nd place in the penning perspective creative writing competition. Manisha Yadav won the quiz conducted for the interns.
Path Rangoli Competition was conducted for undergraduates on the eve of International Pathology Day 2024.
